Acres: 506 acres Acquisition date: 1/5/04 Partner: Catawba Land Conservancy Preservation of the North Stanley Creek watershed completed protection of the highest priority natural area in Gaston County and doubled the permanently protected land in the area.

Bigleaf magnolias inhabit the mesic slopes. The site will be used for education and low impact recreational uses, and managed by the Catawba Lands Conservancy.

EEP’s preservation efforts result from a partnership with the N.C. Department of Transportation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. NCDOT is a major contributor of funding on this project.
