Waterfalls and rugged cliffs along the headwaters of Buffalo Creek are to be managed for recreational uses by the Wildlife Resources Commission. High ridges and knobs surrounding deep ravines and valleys are home to many species of plants and animals, including black bear.
EEP’s preservation efforts result from a partnership with the N.C. Department of Transportation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. NCDOT is a major contributor of funding on this project.
