N.C. Ecosystem Enhancement Program
LITTLE SHOCCO CREEK SHOCCO LLC., FRANKLIN COUNTY

Acres: 40.43

Acquisition date: 5/30/05

Little Shocco Creek is designated a nationally significant aquatic habitat, and harbors the Federally Endangered dwarf wedgemussel. Low elevation seeps on the tract are also protected by this easement.

The purchase of a conservation easement on this tract contributes to the protection of this habitat. The parcel connects state-owned lands with permanently protected lands. Four other parcels in this stream segment are to be protected by EEP purchases.
