Acres: 71
Acquisition date: 1/31/05
This acquisition contributes to the protection of state- and federal-designated rare plant populations along the Eno River. Funding was provided by the N.C. Natural Heritage Trust Fund, as well as EEP.
The tract is part of a natural area of national significance and contains approximately 25 acres of upland depression swamp-forest wetlands. The acquisition of Eno Stevens tract protects another piece of the open-space corridor stretching from the Butner-Falls Lake Gameland to the Eno River State Park.
EEP’s preservation efforts result from a partnership with the N.C. Department of Transportation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. NCDOT is a major contributor of funding on this project.
