The Pisgah Covered Bridge is near this scenic tract, which borders the Little River.

Several uncommon mussel species live within three miles downstream, including the federal species of concern Atlantic pigtoe and Carolina creekshell, the uncommon notched rainbow, Eastern creekshell, and an endemic Alasmidonta species, and a rare fish species of federal concern, the Carolina darter.
