This conservation easement safeguards water quality in the Upper Hyco Lake drainage. The 16,000-acre Caswell Game Land is within three miles of the easement area. In a simultaneous closing, the landowner donated an easement on the uplands of this property, resulting in the protection of the entire 324-acre parcel.

EEP’s preservation efforts result from a partnership with the N.C. Department of Transportation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. NCDOT is a major contributor of funding on this project.
