N.C. Ecosystem Enhancement Program
UPDATES ON THE EEP WEB SITE

After 19 months in operation, the N.C. Ecosystem Enhancement Program website underwent a reconstruction process culminating in February 2006, changes designed to improve the utility of the site and ease of navigation around it.

The changes begin with the EEP Home Page. Each of the four clickable windowpanes on the new home page reveals a “rollover” menu when a visitor’s cursor lands on it, providing handy information on what information the window link will provide when clicked.

One of the windowpanes on the home page is brand new: an Information for Landowners page that acts as a portal to everything a visitor will need to know about getting involved voluntarily with EEP’s restoration, preservation and mitigation activities. This page replaces the Resources windowpane on the old home page, which has now moved to an expanded menu of links on the left-side panel of the home page and continues to serve as EEP’s repository of topical information.

Another of the windowpanes, now titled Program Components, replaces “Services/Products/Projects” on the original homepage. Clicking here takes the visitor to a new clickable organization chart that provides links to information on each of EEP’s program sections and the services they provide.

Another windowpane, Doing Business With EEP, leads to reorganized information not only for the contractors and providers with whom EEP transacts business, but also to information for landowners, customers needing in-lieu fee mitigation, and local watershed-planning support services. The fourth windowpane salutes the Partnerships critical to EEP’s operations and continued success.

An updated Site Map provides a quick overview of the entire site and its architecture. EEP welcomes input on the newly redesigned web site, or on any problems experienced in using or navigating it. Watch for new developments in the program at the Hot Topics links on the home page.
