New,
revised or re-submitted In-Lieu Fee requests for wetlands, streams, and
riparian buffer mitigation are considered weekly. To request mitigation
credit through the EEP ILF Program, applicants or their agents should
complete the In-Lieu Fee Request Form (Non-DOT).
Forms should be completed as completely as possible and include impacts
for which EEP mitigation is needed as well as a map to verify project
location.
EEP staff typically meets each
Tuesday afternoon to consider these requests. Considered in this review
are the financial, temporal and technical ability of the program to
satisfy the mitigation request. EEP will provide applicants with a
written response as soon as possible following these weekly meetings.
Acceptance letters are valid for nine months from the issue date. If
EEP does not receive the associated permits within that period,
applicants should request to renew their acceptance by completing a new
form, indicating it is a renewal of an expired acceptance, and submit
it to the ILF Program Coordinator.
If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact EEP
In-Lieu Fee Coordinator Kelly Williams at Kelly.Williams@ncdenr.gov or by phone at 919-716-1921.
