Meeting will discuss plans for Little Alamance Creek

The city of Burlington will host a public meeting on the restoration of Little Alamance Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Monday in the Kernodle Senior Center at 1535 S. Mebane St. in Burlington.

At this meeting, the public will have an opportunity to learn more about a restoration project for Little Alamance Creek at Burlington's City Park. The creek, which runs through the cities of Burlington and Graham, has been rated as impaired by state regulators since 2000.

In 2006, North Carolina's Ecosystem Enhancement Program and the Piedmont Triad Council of Governments began a study to monitor the creek, make policy recommendations, and identify project opportunities to improve water quality and habitat.
